1. I just finished the 1st season on DVD not long ago...

It's got great writing, a fantastic cast, and the production values are sky high.

2. IMO it's one of the best shows on TV right now.
Kinda soap-opera-y, but good and intriguing nonetheless.

3. I'm a LOST addict
Edited on Thu Oct-23-08 11:37 AM by GloriaSmith
I didn't watch it when it first aired because a whole show about people stuck on an island seemed stupid. I didn't see it all all until they replayed the first season the summer after the show originally started. I had the tv on but I wasn't paying attention to what was on. Suddenly the first episode of LOST started and I literally got hooked before I had a chance to change the channel. It's that good.

I thought the first season was the best until last season. Last season still gives me chills. You should be able to watch the entire series for free on abc.com.

6. I kinda got into it the same way.
Except I decided to download it because I wanted to see what the fuss was about. I ended up watching the entire first season in just one day.

My Ex and I watch it together via phone -- we even take notes about stuff so we can discuss it again later. Haruka calls herself a "Lost" widow.

8. I've never watched it either.
I work nights, and I can't get into shows that I have to follow each week.

I don't have TIVO or DVR and I don't have the time to watch them on the internet either.

9. It's a great show, but yeah, you really have to follow each week
It's progressed so far from where it started, it's almost a totally different show. The first season isn't as bad, but after that, you miss a couple episodes and you're totally out of the loop.

10. this is why ABC's website kicks ass
You have to download a plugin to view the shows, but ABC lets you watch the entire series online for free. The commercials are limited and the quality is great.

she had some issues with getting it to load, even after adding the plugin but it has since worked.

Now my husband and I are addicted. Sci Fi channel is showing 4 episodes every monday. We record them then watch them throughout the week. Since this is our first time seeing them, it's driving us crazy wondering what's in that damn hatch. Please don't tell me!!

I may be biased, but my wholly objective opinion of it is that is proves the absolute existence of God-- and that God's a pretty good writer to boot!

18. It started off a good show.
They had no idea what they were doing though, and it went downhill fast.

Kind of like Twin Peaks, or the new Battlestar Galactica.

21. It's great!
I didn't want to watch it at first -- my husband rented the DVDs and I said, "Who wants to watch a show about a bunch of model-looking people on an island??" But after the first couple shows, I was hooked.

There have been some slow periods, but for the most part, the writing is top notch: constant twists, new material and characters, etc. Really, it's fascinating!

22. It's terrific and addictive, but you have to watch the whole thing.
And given that we are moving into Season 5, that would mean you have about 60 hours of catching up to do.

25. Most emphatically, yes. Yes, it is.
It is my favorite show on television. If you want to get into it, you have to start from the beginning. The show revolves around a core mystery with definite sci-fi overtones. The structure of the show plays with time because for the first few seasons the show jumps back and forth between the characters on the island and their lives off the island before they crashed. It's now transitioning into flash forwards. There are many scientific and philosophical allusions. When it first began, I was impressed that there were Korean main characters who spoke in Korean with subtitles. I used to hate it on shows when the characters would speak English with accents and everyone was supposed to suspend belief and pretend they were speaking another language. I know that's kind of a weird reason to like a show, but I think it shows a certain respect for the viewing audience. The production quality of the show is fantastic.
