I dreamt last night I was in Gold Rock, North Carolina.

A primer: Gold Rock isn't so much of a town as it is an exit off of I-95 with a conglomeration of various hotels and restaraunts.

I'm not sure why I dreamt about Gold Rock. I do know that when I was a kid on our family vacations from Maryland to Florida our family would often stop at Gold Rock to either eat or sleep. I dreamt I was looking for a hotel in Gold Rock. All in all it was a nice dream because it reminded me of vacations as a kid, so I woke up with a smile. And I now have a strange urge to drive up I-95 and stop there, eat at a Denny's or a Waffle House and stay at the Days Inn. Weird, huh?

1. Weird
I used to drive to Ohio a lot from Maryland. And we always stopped in Breezewood, PA..which sounds a lot like Gold Rock..but I've never dreamed about it...I'm guessing you are missing the Black Eyed Susan State...

2. My parents would always stop at Breezewood when visiting my sister in Pittsburgh
It was more or less the halfway point between Southern Maryland and Pittsburgh. And it was the same as Gold Rock--a commercial hub for road travelers.

I miss Maryland, but I think even more I miss road trips between Maryland and Florida. The family vacations to Florida were always the highlight of the year for me. I haven't taken a road trip up to Maryland in several years and I think I miss doing that.
