My cats hate our foyer rug(s)
I like having a small round rug in front of the hall table. But the old one accumulated too much cat pee and car barf, along with doggie poo, pee and barf from my daughter's puppy when they visit. Even Nature's Miracle couldn't get rid of the smell, so we ditched the rug.

Last week I found a nice replacement rug at a yard sale for $25. Last night I found one of the cats hacking up stuff all over it. I sprayed with Nature's Miracle, but my heart sank. I knew this rug, too, was doomed.

Why do they hate my rugs? And why does this particular rug location draw them like flies? Why can't they do their business on the floor, where it's easier to clean up?

Tonight my daughter and her year-old puppy are coming home for a few days. Betcha anything the puppy does his thing on my poor rug before the weekend is over.

1. My cats viciously attack the kitchen throw rug.
Thankfully, it involves no bodily fluids, only running at it full speed, claws out and wrapping themselves in its evilness followed by biting and more scratching. They clearly want it dead.

4. That sounds even worse
My condolences

My two torties have destroyed a number of bath rugs.

Why, why, WHY do they hate out rugs?
Are they tiny interior decorators in furry suits?

:banghead:

5. If they are tiny interior decorators....
They hate what I've done with the entire house.

6. My cats have cost me SO much rug money...
...I'll put it simply: two small antique rugs, about 2X4, about $1500 each, were pissed on by my male cat. Cost me $350 to clean them. Two days after I got them back, he pissed on one of them again. It's now in the closet, in mothballs. A 10ft. by 12ft. antique Persian rug I paid $10,000 for, I had to roll up and store in plastic behind the couch because our two cats (they're my wife's, frankly), kept puking on it. Recently, we discovered that our male cat was going behind the couch to piss and shit on the rug. It got through the plastic wrap. It will cost at least a thousand dollars to clean it. I don't blame the cats, because they don't know what they're doing. And I'm not a wealthy man, despite the fact that I paid ten-grand for a rug. I considered it an investment, and now it's possibly shot to hell. What I AM is very frustrated. We've tried to take our cats to the vet for a year now, but my wife rescued them from a park where they'd been abandoned, so they cannot be picked up. It is beyond frustrating. It's actually been a strain on our marriage. I'm not kidding, and I'm not exaggerating.

7. A life with pets requires detachment from objects of perceived value.
Their sense of value is different from ours.
