Got the hell kicked out of me doing phonebanking for Obama

Actually, it wasn't that bad. I spent a hellish couple of years doing outbound telemarketing during a bad period in the early '00s and I was very apprehensive, but I mostly got answering machines and even the rude people just wanted to get off the phone in a hurry, so it was tolerable and even vaguely uplifting.

The weirdest contact was with a woman who told me she wasn't voting because she had suffered brain damage. I assume she just wanted me to buzz off, but why go to the trouble to invent such a rationale?
