5. I've been sitting at home for over two weeks now

There is only about one-third the freight there was three weeks ago, and none of the stuff posted on the load boards pays squat.


This is supposed to be the busiest truckload freight time of the year, but I've never seen it this slow in mid-October.

9. We are having the same problem right now.

I have been at home more this month than I have been gone. The military loads that we do have dropped off big time. We use to haul 5-8 of them a week between the three of us. Here lately we are lucky to get three. We are also having a huge problem finding loads coming back to TX. My poor brother sat in Dover for five days before I could find a decent load coming back. The load doesn't pay crap but I had to get him back here. I'm use to freight slowing down this time of the year but this is ridiculous.

10. It's cheaper for me *not* to run with these crap rates

Track and trailer can sit, they don't cost me anything when they do as they are both paid for, but no revenue coming in makes it a little problematic as to how long I may be able not to run.

I was counting on hitting it pretty hard right up to the holidays, then coasting on revenue come January. Looks like that ain't gonna happen.


Pondering my options. None look too good.
