I'm on hold with my 6th (sixth) "customer service" person.
My wireless router went south on the 9th. I called Verizon ("the suck") immediately, and they were supposed to ship me a new one overnight. Never got here. I bypassed the router and forgot I was even waiting on it. Now I need the wireless service from the router again, and I'm going on an hour here listening to shitty hold music and talking to every employee the suck has trying to get a router.

Quite frankly, I don't give a shit what happened to the one you allegedly sent. That's your problem. Tell me how I can get one today. I'll drive down and pick one up.

Honestly, at this point, I'd have been better off going to Best Buy and just buying one.

1. Do they have a local office?
When I have a problem with Comcast (frequently) I generally find it's faster and easier to drive over there rather than deal with the phone people.

3. I'm armed, so the phone is best in these situations.

5. Would you otherwise be in mortal danger at the cable company office?
Seriesly. If this were anybody else I was talking to, there'd be a comment about the size of their junk here. As you don't have that problem ( :D :loveya: ) the whole gun thing leaves me a bit confused.

2. Dude
Have you already been transferred like three times where each person says, "Let me please get your name and mailing address and then tell me the reason why you are calling"?

4. 5 transfers
Each one wanting the name and the phone number the account is under. When I tell them I've spoken to tech support, repair, some "encore" group, the next one says, "well, now you're back with tech support." I thought for sure I was going to lose it.

BUT, if you need to call the finance dept like I had to a couple months ago (I was double billed, and told them I wasn't paying the second installment, they sent a late/we're turning your shit off notice), you get the overlords in a 4 way conference call, with the finance dept laying a beat down on the "turn your shit off" department.

All about the money.

7. Good luck
The shit I hate the most too is the damn script reading. I would be more tolerant if the person were to admit they're a dumb-ass and can't help me rather than, "Were we able to help you with your problem today sir?", No, I'm going to Best Buy and buy a new router at my own expense, "In that case sir let me say it was a pleasure it was helping you solve your problem and to let you know that we are always here to assist you when you need us"

Makes you want to reach though the phone and choke them

8. When I called Verizon for service last week
I spoke 100% with a computer (Press 1 or say "yes" to continue). I wasn't sure actual people worked there.

9. they sure move fast when you're a business customer, though
they are great when I call for my office, but horrible when we tried to get anything fixed here at the house.

That's why we deal with someone else for the FIOS now. Or I make the computer savvy husband fix stuff and that's what he does - he buys the router and puts it in himself.
