There's an Oregon state employee who has been featured in newspapers several times because the bulk of her job is screening vanity plate applications for unacceptable terms (racial slurs, misogynist/misanthropic crap/references to illegal activities, etc.). Evidently, she's shrewd and catches most of the attempts at "humor" passed her way. The last article on her had a lot of great "near misses" (bad shit that came through on apps she almost approved because the letter combos were so subtle).
