Concerning Palin's wardrobe: I'm a big fan of TLC's What Not to Wear
The premise is that they take a fashion nightmare (nominated by friends!) and give them a shopping spree to acquire a new wardrobe, purchased in NYC department stores and boutiques. The total cost? $5,000. For a whole new wardrobe. Shopping in NYC.

Spinning the $150,000 as -necessary- is absolutely outrageous. It's an inarguable luxury, paid for by citizen donations, and is in all aspects hugely crummy. It will drive Palin's unfavorables ever higher. Yeah, it's as superficial as a $400 haircut, but it's on a far grander scale and in a far more damaging setting!

1. Yeah, I was thinking of starting a thread about this actually
Its inconceivable to me. When I've gone on an "extravagant" shopping spree I've spent about $500.
And I make a decent income.
I don't want to hear anymore crap about how she's a typical "hockey mom" anymore. BULLSHIT!

2. I don't think I've ever spent more than $200.00 in one outing
besides the time I bought 4 sets of cammies in the military.

3. But Dude, -
You don't have a beauty pageant image to protect. I mean, - do you know how hard it is to match a red leather jacket to a tiara?

8. Yes, with gold anodized bling buttons AND white gloves
I was so thrilled while doing the recruiter's assistance rounds after bootcamp to be called a 'doorman' by some rich old bag. Needless to say, she got her own door.

5. I bought a $200 formal dress once
And I felt GUILTY about spending so much on a piece of clothing. Obviously it doesn't bother Mz. Palin at all...

7. Oh come on!
She has to keep up with Cindy McCain! :sarcasm: However, beer drinkers paid for Cindy’s extravagances, and they at least got something out of it.
