2. Awww, do you think he has a home?
Do you know if he's really a male kitty? He might just be roaming around or "tom-catting."

3. He'll be back
They know where the free meals are. We have a cat that drops by every morning for the breakfast buffet. He doesn't live here, he has no particular interest in meeting us or staying around, he just wants his breakfast.

4. The story of my adopted cat "Eve".
Edited on Tue Oct-21-08 11:17 PM by Throckmorton
She was a very pregnent calico that someone abandoned on our street years ago.
She had her kittens in our tool shed, 3 litte treasures that all went to good homes.
She always came up to our back porch for her meals in the evening, hence the name Eve.
She lived in our tool shed for years, but refused to come in the house. I even built her a heated "Nest" that she love to sleep in/on.
We took her to the vet, got her spade and her shots, and everything else she needed.
She would sit with us on our back porch, even sit in April's lap, but never mine.
She would follow us around the yard like a dog.
One evening, while it was snowing a blizzard outside, she came down for her meal, and I took her inside the house.
The next day, I let her out, and never saw her again, at that point she had lived with us for almost 6 years.
I broke the deal I guess, She hated indoors, and I forced her to stay inside, thinking it would be easier on her.
That was almost 6 years ago, and I still regreat not just letting her sleep in her toolshed, on her heated shelf.
To this day, the shelf remains there, I guess I am still hoping she will come home.

PS. I still love you April, and maybe Eve is there with you now, give her a pet for me.

7. so sorry
my Riff Raff had a better ending - he was an injured, starving half-hairless longhair tuxedo kitty - I fed him outdoors for a few months, then ordered a trap over the internet and caught him, got him fixed, fed him and he did just wonderful - except he always treated me like the wicked witch who stole him from the great outdoors - never stopped trying to go outside. One day he got out and was gone for 17 days - I was heartbroken but he eventually showed back at my door - I got the hint - got him microchipped, got him a collar - now he kind of comes and goes although I do make him stay in at night. :)

and hopefully come back to you. Many many years ago I had friends that were cat people kike we are. Had 5 or 6 cats that I remember. One of their cats was the 'neighborhood' cat. would visit all the neighbors when they were outside, and lead them back to 'her' house to show them where she lived. Every one knew 'Miss Mouse', a beautiful long haired grey kitteh. She would occasionally stop by and visit with the neighbors for a couple of days, and everyone watched out for her in case she was sitting in their driveway. She LOVED kids.

One day, our friends told us Miss was missing. A couple of weeks had passed when a neighbor further down the street brough Miss back. She had stopped by one night and stayed. No sooner than she was out of the carrier than she ran to the cat door and was gone, down the street. She went back to the neighbors house, and stayed. She never went outside after that. My friends told me she died a few years ago at the grand old age of 22. A most amazing cat.
