Fashion fads that you are willing to plead guilty to.....
Some of mine:

Tretorns. They were "in." They were a MUST-have. They came in MANY colors that HAD to match your outfit (more for the ladies). And, most importantly, THEY WERE MADE FROM CARDBOARD!!!!!! :wtf:

Pegged (aka pinch-rolled) Jeans. Why? Why did I do that?

Speaking of jeans... They HAD to be Girbaud. Because that little white tag just above your crotch was TRES important!!!! :eyes:

3. You pretty much listed them. We called them tight-rolled jeans.
Also, Guess jeans were really popular.

4. Yeah, the Guess jeans were popular then, too...
but I couldn't wear them- they generally seemed to fit slim to stick figures better, of which I was (and still am) not.

5. Pegged jeans were VERY different when I was a teen - they were
DIY. You had to turn the jeans inside out and then starting at the inseam at the knee, take them in an inch (or however much it took to make them skin tight) all the way around (including most importantly the crotch). Very attractive look.

I wasn't an exeptional offender, but was still too far over that line, and didn't realize it...

Vans. Ugly as sin, but they WERE comfy...

Jams shorts. The Hawaiian shirt, only on your loins. Gawd, I had some ugly ones...

The Do-Rag. I spent the better part of my college years with a bandana on my head...

Bermuda Short length cut-off jeans with a rolled cuff. What the hell was THAT about???

14. I did not know those shirts had a name!
So this has been educational!

I was kind of between the 80's and 90's (graduated high school in 1989).

21. WTH? Leg warmers were the hottest thing ever.
A woman in leg warmers and nothing else, Joe Jackson on the turntable, a big old bottle of wine...

Good times.

18. *Jama slinks into the thread with her head down and mumbles*
if hairstyles count, I used to spike my hair with L.A. Looks before I learn the real punk way to spike my hair.

*Jama leaves with head down hoping no one noticed she posted that confession*

19. I may have grown up in the 80s with all of the horrid things that went on then...
but I abhorred them all. The only times I was a fashion victim was when I wasn't responsible for choosing my own outfits.

30. You're all pups
You should've seen what we wore in the seventies. Tube socks. Earth shoes. CPO jackets. Gauchos.

You know that white three-piece suit from Saturday Night Fever?

Yeah, I had the female version of that. Two of them, actually. A light blue and a beige. In polyester. And I wore them in public.

Check it:

We had great wallpaper back then, too.
