Awww. OktoberKid is off to a birthday party.
It's a Halloween-themed party, so he's wearing his ninja costume. We got the little boy a couple of those Bakugan toys that are so popular right now. I'm watching him trudge up the hill as we speak. I'd go with him, but I strained my back this morning and climbing that hill is just out of my range of capabilities right now. :(

Still, he's gonna have a great time. All of the neighborhood kids were invited. So in honor of the occasion, tell me about the best birthday party you've ever had--yours, your kids, a friends, whatever.

Oh--and HAPPY BIRTHDAY OktoberNeighborKid! :hi:

1. I just had K's belated birthday party yesterday in one of the local parks
K turned 7 in August and unfortunately September got away from me.

I held the party after school (they get out around 2, party started at 3). For food, we had Sun Chips, Pita Chips and Hummus. (The hummus was for the adults). The kids all played in the park for awhile, until everyone arrived. Then I had two games.

Skeleton Relay: I separated the kids into two teams, each team had a bag o'bones (paper cut outs), a poster board and a glue stick. First player takes one piece out of the bag, runs to the poster board and glues the bone to the poster board and runs back, then the second kid takes out a bone, etc, until they are finished putting the skeleton together.

The second game was the clothespin race. Each player gets a clothespin, to be put between the knees. The object is to walk down to a cup with the clothespin between the knees and drop it into a cup.

I figured to be done with the party at around 5, but the last guests left at 6:30!

I think all the kids had a great time. And I spent less than 70 bucks for everything (including the little party favor bags).
