Going to let my health club membership lapse... it's been years since I've actually been there, and they closed the one that was somewhat convenient to me that I STILL never went to. Now the nearest one I could go to is almost a half-hour's drive, so there's no way I'll do it.
I joined probably 20 years ago and went pretty regularly for a while when I lived in Columbus, then when I moved to Dayton, I went sporadically for awhile, but the attitude of the staff just was so negative (unless you were already in great shape) that I just couldn't bear to go. I'd purchased one of those "expensive to get, cheap to keep" plans, so it was only about $11 a month to keep it, and by jove, one of these days I'd be in good enough shape to go back to my health club!
Well, I've decided to stop kidding myself on some things, and this seems like a good place to start. If I find time to start exercising, I have a treadmill at home and miles and miles of sidewalks, and the community center nearby has workout gear and a friendlier attitude if I get that far.
Baby steps...
