I need a major pep talk to get my work done
Why does this happen every Sunday night before class? I haven't even procrastinated this time... I've been working on this project for weeks and I still can't get it across the finish line. :banghead: Arrrgh!

1. Get your work done...
or you'll end up living in a van down by the river.

Sorry, pep talks aren't really my strong suit.

3. shit, I need the same
I told my advisers that I'd have a new version of this massive progress report done by tomorrow, and it's not going to happen. I don't know when it will happen. It's like I think about it, and my brains turn into concrete.

I'm horrible. Even when I'm ahead on my work, I manage to find a way to fall behind. :P

5. as a college teacher, let me help you out.
First of all, just do something. Anything! Get something on paper because that at least shows you're trying.

If worse comes to worst, you can always show that to the prof and say you're stumped. Ask the instructor for some ideas on where to go with it.

Another strategy is to put in a short amount of time each day on the project--from the time the assignment is given until it's due. Say to yourself that you'll just work a half hour on it and that's it. Then keep your promise to yourself and quit in 30". Most likely when you go back to the project, your subconscious will have been manufacturing up some ideas and they will come to you and you'll be off and running. You'll also be eager to get back to the project because now you're inspired.

8. Thank you...
very much. For me it's a combination of not being able to juggle work full-time and school after 9-5 hours. The weekend just isn't enough time to accomplish everything, and then procrastination hits when I get writer's block. Whine, whine, whine. :)

6. I hope you get that burst of energy and inspiration
that pulls it all together.

I hope you don't have to be up too late to get it finished tonight, but I hope you still get it done well. I have faith in you and your intelligence, so I believe you can do this.

:)

11. I was hoping you would feel energized and smart.
I didn't want you to feel stupid. From your posts we know you're definitely not stupid. Not even on your worst days.

12. Don't make me come over there
I don't know where you live, but if I have to start knocking on random doors in the U.S. until I eventually find you I'll be pretty grumpy by the time I find you. So you had better get back to business!
