Men Have 4 Kidneys - NO HANGOVERS - Nope Never
<snip>

TWO Bosnian brothers who say they can drink as much as they want without feeling drunk have been told they each have a spare set of fully functioning kidneys.

Josip Galic, 69, from Kucetine in Bosnia said: "I had a car accident and doctors discovered I had four kidneys.

"That surprised me, but at least it explained why I could drink all my friends under the table, and never had a hangover."

1. Maybe they also have two livers
It's the liver that gets rid of alcohol for you. :hi: Mat

2. Yeah, but wouldn't two kidneys just process everything so fast that
a lot of the alcohol would simply be released before actually entering your system?

3. No, everything you put in your digestive system
must first go through your liver. It's called the first pass. That's why IV drugs work so much faster than stuff by mouth, it's not first de-toxified in the liver. The liver can process a certain amount of alcohol, but to get a buzz, you have to drink at a rate faster than the liver can do its stuff.

4. I had an extra kidney...

It functioned, but not well. I had chronic bladder/UT infections as a result.

I don't think I can drink more than anybody else (or could before it was removed); and I had many a hangover. But I do seem to be able to hold my pee longer than the average person. :beer:
