It wasn't a surprise -- but it was a big shock
to see a "McCain/Palin" yard sign across the street.

Our neighbors are good people, but their politics are different from ours.

It wasn't surprising to see that sign. But I was really shocked at the sight. Do you get what I mean - do you get the difference between surprise & shock? I wish I knew how to explain it.

Anyway.

1. I totally get it.
Of course, we do not really do yard signs here, but I have seen quite a few "NObama" stickers around her. More of the "NObama" than the actual McCain stickers...weird.

2. That doesn't surprise me.
Rhetoric always seemed to me to count for more than an honestly expressed opinion behind the Orange Curtain.

3. No doubt.
I find it funny that they are ripping one candidate versus actually supporting their own candidate.

4. Shows they have some intelligence.
They can't very well actually support McCain and not look stupid, and they know it.

5. Most of our neighbors will be for McSame. Not surprising. If asked them to sell
their children into slavery and they'd be shocked.

A vote for the republicans is tantamount to enforced slavery for the working class.

7. we visited my home town today to see the parents
Edited on Fri Oct-10-08 08:35 PM by tigereye
and there were a good number of McCain signs - my son was asking me what was up with "small towns" and did they tend to be more conservative....We are spoiled since we live in a VERY blue area.

fortunately I saw Obama signs as well, including in front of my parent's house, not surprisingly. They live across from a fundie church, so I enjoy parking my car covered with lefty bumper-stickers right in front.

8. I don't see the value of yard signs myself.
If someone is deciding to vote on a candidate based on a yard sign they do not belong in a voting booth.

BTW hello again Bertha, this is WCross reincarnated as Wartrace. I hope all is well with you, I was on a self imposed hiatus from D.U. for a while.

9. I understand.
It's like, you know dogs shit on the sidewalk, but when they shit on your sidewalk, it's a shock.
