I have very few rules when it comes to friends. I like it when people feel free to express themselves as they wish. I do however have boundaries surrounding things I own and my space. I have issues when it comes to people being in my room without me inviting them in. Now what I usually do is say, "Please don't do that." And then they do it again, and then call me crazy because I get upset. I just don't get it. Details, I call my roommate who is also a dear friend of 20 years and tell him I think someone has gone into my room because there is toilet paper in my room. See I just don't keep toilet paper in my room, I live right next to the bathroom. I am not a boy, and I didn't have a cold. I know my habits, and it is just not one of my habits to keep toilet paper in my room. I wasn't accusing anyone of anything. I just like, "Hey, where did this come from. I didn't put it here." He talks with the guy I invited to stay saying that I believe that someone went into my room and he just blows up and calls me crazy.
But this seems to keep happening with other people. I say something like, "please don't do that," in a Mary Poppins style, firm but kind. How hard is this?
Am I losing my mind or are people just not believing me?
