but have you ever eaten at a Cracker Barrel?

2. I think Cracker Barrel was modeled on Po' Folks...

I don't know for sure, but I believe Po' Folks was around before the CB. CB is more like a stand alone mall restaurant, IMHO. I'm in the South and would rather go to a REAL country restaurant that's still ran by Grammy or Nana!

4. Eeeeeek! Cracker Barrel is Homophobia Central

They refuse to hire anyone they believe to be gay. They fire people they believe to be gay.

A few years ago a number of us decided to fight back. A few dozen of us got in line, very quietly, and waited until we occupied all the tables at the Cracker Barrel in Union City, Ga. (south Fulton) We each ordered an iced tea (the cheapest thing they had). After the iced teas arrived, we sprang into action, chanting softly, "Bigotry. Bigotry. Bigotry."

After a half-hour or so we left our $5 tips (so the waitstaff wouldn't get hosed by our protest) and left. Ahhhhhhhhhh. That felt good!

In short, you ARE the only liberal in the place every time you go.
