I'm Too Excited To Sleep.
Let me start off by saying, I'm sick of cars. I finished paying of my Altima of Love this month and instead of getting right back into the mouse trap, I'm deciding that this is my last car I will ever buy. Dead. Fucking. Serious. I don't ever want to buy a new automobile again. I don't ever want to make payments. Even now, with the car I have, I hate knowing that on a good day it'll cost me 55 dollars to fill the fucker up and that'll last me two weeks if I don't venture out of my city's parameters.

So I want a bike. Actually, let me rephrase that: I want a bike that runs. My dad gave me a Harley Sportster some years ago that he didn't want, and I didn't want. So I fixed it up, only to have it break on me... Constantly. I'm sure some Harley sympathizers on here may get pissed when I say this, but Harley's are gigantic pieces of expensive shit. Hell, just to replace a blinker costs a hundred bucks. Fuck that noise.

I started thinking about maybe its time to go retro again. In the past, I've owned quite a few vintage Vespa's. Yes, I know they're considered lame or girly. I don't care. I love them. Easy to work on and they get 70 plus MPG. The main problem is, they're small and I'm big. Few models accommodate the Symarip, and of those most were very limited in production then. I can't imagine how hard it would be to try and track one down now. Until I did on craigslist and found a guy with a beautiful bike up in the hills of Pennsylvania.

Long story short, this dude is willing to trade me a 1967 Vespa SS 180 for my non running Harley Davidson. To those of you that gawk, a running SS with fenders intact is the rarest of all Vespa's on the road and can fetch up to 10,000 dollars when rebuilt. It's also the biggest model Vespa ever made. A piece of shit Harley Davidson Sportster is worth 4 grand, and that's if it's running. Mine is not, currently.

This is not 'it' but a picture I found online. I drove 'it' today for a few hours for a test run and it's amazing. He's dropping it off tomorrow since I didn't have a truck to haul it off today. And he wants to inspect the Harley which is understandable. Anyways, I'll take pictures of 'it' tomorrow and post them. Until then, I can't sleep!

1. My dear Symarip!
Now, that sounds great!

I can bet you're too excited to sleep!

But you need to so you won't crash the minute you ride your sweet new bike!

And please wear a helmet, OK?

Even if it's not the law...

And have a great time!

:woohoo: :woohoo:

2. really nice!
I am afraid of scooters and motorcycles, to be perfectly honest, and more so after a bad car accident earlier this year. But I'd be game for a SmartCar, definitely....

Glad you found what you wanted!

Looking forward to some photos of your new wheels...
