I am a precinct chair in a rw town in Texas and believe it or not I can see small signs of progress. Tell me your thoughts, ideas and successes. Give me your best: your best ideas, grass root connections, good conscience raising processes, anything that is positive that will help. Thanks. Peace and love.

1. Hi stranger!!
At the moment, my volunteering consists of volunteering with the ACLU in the e-voting and legislative projects.

Once the primaries are over, I plan to volunteer for our party's nominee for President, since my new Congressional District has no Democratic candidate. (I'm moving to District 25 in June, so I can be represented by Lloyd Doggett again.)

2. Hey, I now have a daughter in Rob Roy and one lives off Four Iron and
Spicewood Springs area (don't know where that exactly is but she is near a GOLF COURSE) They are all, of course, liberals (including hub of one daughter). No one knows what district they are in. Actually the ones in RR have not even gotten their voter's registration cards back. They were mailed from California before the due dates. I don't know what district I'm in now since I lost Chet Edwards and haven't seen any Dem's signs, just repukes. It is so discouraging and we are right where they wanted us. Right.

4. I'm a pretty busy fella
Edited on Thu Feb-26-04 09:15 PM by Droopy
Between school and work it doesn't leave me with much time.

If I don't attend school this summer I may do some voluteer work for the Dem party.

On edit: I will be sending money to the eventual nominee and I'm trying to get my family to vote Democratic this year. Most of them voted for Bush. I've already got one convert.

6. You know I think cash works well and getting one convert will do the
job if we all do the same. Thanks.

5. I sit around at my desk and post a lot of BS on forums on the web. . .
Oh wait, for a second I thought I waas a Freeper and you asked what I was doing to HELP Bush :).

Currently I have given donations to candidates (various, and at different times, probably a few hundred dollars total).

As time goes on I will be donating more of my time, etc. (I live in Boston so I may be checking into what kind of help I can be for the convention, etc.)

Other than that, not too much yet, my regular job is keeping me pretty busy.

8. Going to my County and State D-Conventions
Would love to go the National one too.

I email a lot of the great articles I read on the net, and those that are sent to me
by a good friend, all over the place. We exchange stuff, and she emails
everybody too. We are both a wee bit obsessed with getting the info
out, and hopefully it has an effect!

10. Getting the info out without going "over the top" which is my problem.

I am so obsessed with hatred for that little weasel (remember I am a Texan so I have had that creep around me for years longer than the rest of the US)that I have a very hard time talking rationally when his name is mentioned. An example, I have a ranch (been in the family for about 140 years) and for economics reasons I have started a retreat in the main ranch house. My first customers asked if I used it as a personal retreat like the president and I replied "No, this is real working ranch and has been for many, many years and I need it to make my way in life and that it was not a play place for me." These people are returning so maybe my rant wasn't all that offputting.

14. These must be very interesting times to be a Texan...
I joke that I am a Texan too, or at least as much of one as you can be if
you've never actually set foot in the state. My father's family is all from
there (Amarillo) but most left during the Depression and ended up in Colorado
and California.

Good wishes for your ranch. Its sounds great, but I know how much work
that life is.

16. The problem is not the real, old time true Texan whom I knew as a person
of strength and honor but all of the carpetbagging creeps that have come here with nothing but greed to add to the mix. They have no roots and don't care what or who gets hurt in their quest for cash. I think this is true here and in many places, including Colorado and California. These people add nothing to the community. they just take away.

11. Do you think that works because I always say that. I usually foam at the
mouth and become incoherent and nauseous also.

15. I just volunteered to become a precinct chair...
found out my fairly predominantly Democratic precinct was without a chair and called up the Travis County Democratic headquarters yesterday and volunteered to do it. I'm a complete newbie and I'm WAY pumped up about it. Got lots to learn and lots to do.

Like GOPisEvil I'm volunteering with the local ACLU as well. Only I'm working on a couple of research projects - trying to track down some info on the different voting machine vendors.

will want to help there. Where should they go for info? The Travis County Dem Party?
