I want to hug Joe Biden. Such a sweet old man.
I really love Joe Biden. He makes me feel like he really feels the pain of the american middle class, he shows no sign of condescension (how he does that when he is stuck in a room with Palin, i cannot understand), and i really just wanted to hug him yesterday!!

Normally, I am not a big fan of politicians, rather i like/dislike their policies but Joe Biden just makes me feel so secure. Like he knows what he is doing and I can trust my future to him

:loveya:

30. "Old" is, like "young", not generally a relative term. Or a teen would call a 25-year-old "old".

31. teens do call people in their 30's old. by any standard 66 is not young
its not technically middle aged either since 123 is not the normal for lifespan. its old.

I liked him when he began his campaign, but --- like you, I've become more impressed as time has gone on.

I believe our guys can heal a lot of wounds in this country.

...when talking about his tragic family situation. He recovered pretty quickly.

What would have been perfect would have been a barrage of cartoonishly folksy expressions. :eyes:

7. I've known of him my whole life.
He's been in politics since I was 3 years old, and anybody who lives in the Delaware Valley has seen him on their local news for over 35 years now.

He's a good guy - he's not perfect, but he's real. He was handed a low blow at the very start of his career (wife and baby killed in car accident), and people around here never forgot it.

I've never gotten to meet him, but LynneSin got to meet him and hug him this past summer! He talked to her as they stood on her front porch.

Lucky LynneSin!

How you doin', LP? :hi:

13. Hangin' in there, girl. Thanks for asking.
And you hit the nail on the head. He's genuine.

Passionate.

Emotional when he should be.

Raised by a blue-collar family.

Understands the importance of preserving the middle class.

He's always been, imo, one of the best we got.

And as an aside, I gotta give props to his wife, Jill. She married him and raised his two sons as if they were her own while he pursued his political career. She's good people.

But, i think it is genuine with Biden.

Here is an ~8 minute profile of Joe Biden, to listen to or read, that was on NPR on 9/29.

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=95157331

I was puttering around my kitchen listening to it that day and realized tears were welling up in my eyes.
I just felt so relieved to hear that such a good, intelligent man could be taking evil Cheney's place!

23. My employer met him once many years ago.
He picked Biden up at the airport for some local thing in Cleveland. Biden asked the boss how Ohio people regarded Glenn and Metzenbaum who were Dem. senators then. I forgot what the boss said his answer was. Biden said that the two Ohio senators were highly respected in the Senate and that the people here should be proud to have them.

36. The last two dem VP choices were a little weak, but Biden
is fantastic. While I like Edwards' message, his debate performance in '04 wasn't stellar / didn't inspire confidence the way Biden did last night. Biden's performance yesterday really was excellent - not a hint of condescension or irritation or any other sign of disrespect (perhaps because he does respect her - like he respects all humans, unlike hostile-asshole McCain's debate performance).

I feel really good about this team, much better than Kerry/Edwards or Gore/Lieberman (never ever liked Lieberman).

Just you wait, you young whippersnapper, Father Time will pay you a visit some day.
