Seriously, I'm a little scared. I don't want to be caught up in someone's October surprise. I even had a nightmare about this last night. Someone talk me down LOL!

2. Boeing's having labor troubles
Make sure you don't get on a plane made by them

3. Oh, good God! I fly Boeing airplanes on a regular basis.
Their labor situation isn't connected.

7. Actually, I would
The only issue would be a possible slowdown in customer service from Boeing, which happens a lot anyway. The very worst case would be a grounded flight for some kind of AD noncompliance. Any Boeing airplanes now flying would have been spec verified and delivered before the latest labor issues.

I do have some slight connection with the industry.

I've spent many years flying VERY frequently. You don't have anything to be concerned about.

8. You'll be fine
You have a bigger chance of getting hurt driving to the airport (or anywhere for that matter) than you do flying.

Then again, after making sure your shampoo is in a tiny clear container stuffed in a ziplock bag, emptying all your pockets, removing most jewelry, taking off your shoes, taking out your laptop, standing in the security line for 20 minutes, listening to TSA agents bark orders at everyone, waiting at the gate for 30 minutes longer than you're suppose to, enduring cranky flight attendants, then sitting on the tarmac for an additional 30 minutes in a plane that is stuffed with too many people and not enough ventilation...well let's just say that the idea of a terrorist attack involving your plane suddenly doesn't seem so bad.

10. No.
Like Av8rDave I also have a slight connection with the industry; I fly a lot, and I feel completely safe when I do (not so much during the drive to the airport). Boeing airplanes are very safe; so are Airbus airplanes. US airlines have an extraordinary safety record.

Go, fly, relax. It will be fine.

11. And more on the "should you be scared note"...
As pointed out previously, you are more likely to die in a car crash. Related, there are more suicides than murders in the U.S. and certainly more suicides than deaths from airplane crashes. So: you are more of a danger to yourself than anyone around you! Sweet Dreams!

:D

19. Chillax
People fly every day, and it's fine. If it wasn't fine, and wasn't going to be fine, people wouldn't do it. Some times bad things happen, but that's life. It's somewhere between %99.9999999 and %100 certain that all will go well. You're more likely to die in a car accident on the way to the airport, but that's not going to happen either.

20. Boston drivers are WAY scarier then any airplane!!!
I flew a week after 9/11, and never lost a moment's sleep (I figured it was the safest time EVER to fly, and it was)

In case you didn't know, a lot of the airlines are charging now (ex: $2 for a water on USAir), so you may want to buy a water (or other beverage) before you get on board, and bring a little snack like a granola bar (a sandwich will get by security - yogurt or a V8 will not). Slip-off shoes are a better choice than big-ole lace-up boots, and dress comfortably.

It beats driving. Fly safe and enjoy the ride.

Teetering on brink of going out of business.

but you should be fine. Statistically safer than other forms of ransportation. Relax...

you feel yourself becoming anxious.

24. Only if you are the pilot!
THEN BE SCARED OUT OF YOUR WITS!!!!!

You have never flown before and want to pilot a plane. What are you thinking!

seriously... flying is safer than driving. On 9/11 it was 3 out how many THOUSANDS of flights that where highjacked.
