OK, so WTF is the "EE UU?"
Los Estados Unidos --> "EU." Not "EE UU." WTF?!?

1. AFAIK caps are indicated by double letters in Spanish
Weird eh? They also turn their exclamation points and question marks upside down!

3. the punctuation marks I know -
upside down at the beginning of the sentence, right-side up at the end. The doubling of letters to indicate caps (when in fact the letters are already very clearly capitalized) is a new one by me...

2. I guess the repetition is intended to mean plural
E = Estado, EE = Estados. Weird, I know. That's a Spanish thing. In Brazil we write EUA (Estados Unidos da América).

6. it works different in Spanish...
"United" has both gender and number... so for example...

United States = Estados Unidos
united women = mujeres unidas
united world = mundo unido

and so on...

7. In Spanish, adjectives flex into plural along with the noun.
Portuguese too.
