i've taught my cat to say please
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 01:25 PM by kagehime
meet mira

i had her for about 18 months before i even knew she could talk and i only found out when i stepped on her tail. in the 18 months since then, i've heard her talk maybe a dozen times. she's the only one allowed outside and is always begging to be left out.

however, as an experiment, i started standing next to the door with her and telling her she couldn't go out without saying please (if she didn't do it after being told a few times i would still let her out), and she started mustering the biggest meow she's got (which isn't very big). today she did it without even being told to do so. she's a pretty dopey kitty and i'm slightly amazed she caught on, but i'm so proud of her for doing so. :loveya:

2. I've taught my cat to say "Barack".
Literally. She can make a hungry quacking nose that sounds just like "Barack".

5. that is too cute
my fat cat is a chatty one, but it seems like all she can say is 'meh' or just a general squawking noise

3. So cute!
She looks a lot like my two grey monsters..I've kinda trained them to do something similar.
When its time for dinner..I go "whos hungry" or "who wants dinner" and often at least one cat meows at me in return...
Its the power of positive reinforcement...:)

6. my fat cat knows what 'treat' means
when i ask who wants a treat, she comes trotting into the room meowing. my roommate's cat knows what 'goldfish' and 'cracker' mean. she doesn't like regular treats but loves goldfish and any other type of crackers. she does the same thing when i ask her if she wants either one, it's so funny.

10. Pfffft. I taught my cat to say 'Give me some food sucka!' when she's hungry.
It really impresses house guests.

14. This guy meowed for the first time in four years last night.
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 02:27 PM by zanne
We've given him chicken, hamburg, steak, tuna and shrimp. Last night, I was eating a Spam sandwich and he started talking. Turns out he's a Spam freak.

By the way, he isn't ugly; he's just seen some really hard times. His name is Sammy.

15. My Binx (the grey kitteh twin to yours) who passed away Friday the 13th in October 2006
at the age of 13, taught hisself to pee in the toilet, was the most talkative cat who ever owned me, HATED to be inside, and loved to watch TV. I get all teary when I see beautiful kitteh like yours.

And he LOVED my Coco kitteh.

16. Accidentally taught one to say Hello once
No, I mean it, better than a parrot.

Scared the hell outa a guy staying over though.

Dark evening, only one home. He hears 'Hello?' but can't find anyone, couple times of this and he gets a step ahead on the timing and steps over to the stairs before the 'Hello?' and the tomcat named Strahd looks up at him and says "Hello?"
