When Dempster started goin' 2-0, 3-0, 3-1 on everybody, he had 'em taking. Pitcher gets behind like that, he's gotta throw a watermelon to get a strike. The hitters wait on that, and that's when baseballs need FAA authorization.

It's a pitching basic: Get ahead of the hitters, control the game. Get behind 'em and you're not long for this world.
