I hate it when the TV in the break room ends up on Faux news.
Our very brief conversation:

Me: Mind if I change it to CNN?

Response: I only watch Fox News.

Me: You must be a staunch Republican.

Response: (She simply smiled and nodded her head)

:eyes:

Oh, it gets better. Another co-worker had to add, "If Obama gets elected you better hang on to this (grabbing his wallet out of his pants pocket).

I asked why. He pointed to the TV and said, "Because you'll have to pay for THAT!" (he was talking about the bail-out of Wall Street). To which I replied, "If McCain gets elected WHO do you think will pay for it?! He couldn't answer.

Just another day in freeperland. *sigh*

1. You need to make it a point to get to the break room before the
freeper and put on the good news station.

4. I doubt the breakroom TV is capable of time travel.
That's about the only way you'd be able to find a "good news station."

3. I hate the "you'll lose your money" scam the pukes push
You mean you'll have to hold on to HIS wallet? I vaguely remember the fear nuts in '04 seriously worried that their taxes were going to triple if Kerry got in-- these are the lower-middle-class provincial types who trade in stereotypes--

Where does "the democrats will take your money" even come from? Hasn't it been obvious that Bush has robbed the country blind without even so much as a thank-you air kiss?

Easy enough to "edit out" channels in the TV-- go in to menu, select channels, edit, and make sure a minus sign is by the Faux number. Until someone does a retune that channel is lost. It may save you a time or two.

the TV in my bank's lobby. It's now CNN, not much better, but hey, it ain't Faux!

Faux says they are fair and balanced. Maybe if enough people complain, they'll at least PRETEND to be!!

16. They used to play it in the laundry room
And the friggin' controls are locked behind plexiglass. Someone must have figured our how to change it, because it plays BET now. Still has lots of late night commercials for sex lines and rip-off check cashing places, but that's a bit more tolerable - especially with a book and an MP3 player.

My bank and the post office seem perpetually tuned to CNN, but the bank will switch to the cartoon network if I ask politely. The post office is too damned noisy to hear anything anyway, so I don't know why they bother. Those places and the dentist - who tunes to the Food Network - are about the only times I watch television anymore. Ever since I figured out how to watch "Firefly", "Lost" and "Olbermann" on my PC, the television's gotten really, really dusty.

35. Go to Hulu
http://www.hulu.com/ and put "Firefly" in the search engine. They have all fourteen episodes that were shown on TV. Where one can find the two that never made it to the small screen, I don't know. You can get almost any TV show you want either there, or on the network sites, if you don't mind them being out of date. Since I haven't had cable in over ten years, I have a lot of catching up to do.

I can go whenever I want.

But I also allow people who work for me who are paid by the hour (and I insist they take their breaks) to also go whenever they need to. I'm not a total a-hole.

32. I once worked for a company that made everyone take their breaks at the same time..
we'd sit around and talk with each other... a sort of get-to-know you time. Things were so relaxed there. Of course, different industry and different times. Sometimes it's painful to look back. :-(
