the company decided I wasn't a good fit. I came from private industry and took a job in public accounting. Much looser environment... I had 3 offers that week and accepted the wrong one. Now I'm pretty much stuck here because moving cost me every penny I had and then some.

I've got a sinus infection and lots of congestion in my lungs. (And no insurance.) I had planned to go to the lake, but got winded just going up two flights of stairs doing laundry. I'll try to get there later in the week if I can shake this.

I have a husband and an almost-14-year-old son, but if I had moved here by myself from my old town I would probably have gone to the Unitarian church in the neighboring small city.
I've only been to U. U. churches as many times as I can count on my fingers, in several different places, but I felt very 'at home' each time.
I don't know if you have a church you grew up with but if not, or if a group like DU, but in person, seems appealing, I'd recommend checking it out. As my 93-year-old mom always tells me, "You need a network!" So, taking my own advice (and since I need a job, too) next Sunday I think I'll venture over there.

I've applied for 8 jobs in Columbus last week and re-established contact with the agencies I was working with. I'll also look at Cincinnati since I'm pretty open as far as location (ie. no place to live)
