2. 40's, heck...
We did it in the 1980's...
Anybody else remember The Village People's 'In the Navy' being used by the US Navy as a recruitment commercial?
How about Cher's video on a battleship?
And there were 'all soldier/sailor' shows on Broadway during WW2.
