I am craving ham and broccoli casserole.
I'm home from school today due to yet another kidney stone episode (passed TWO of those suckers yesterday, and am still working on the third.) I am taking enormous amounts of narcotic painkillers that the doc provided last night in the hospital before sending me home to tough this out, and one of the side effects of these meds is a craving for certain kinds of food.

Ham and Broccoli Casserole. It isn't terribly healthy, and it isn't terribly interesting, but it's one of my major comfort foods. Cubed ham, soft-cooked broccoli florets, egg noodles, mushrooms, and a can of cream of mushroom soup--all mixed together, topped with about a half-inch of shredded colby cheese, and baked in a casserole dish until the cheese gets melty. I haven't been able to eat much today, but I could definitely eat that!

Mmmmmmm. :9

3. I never heard of that, but it is making me hungry.
How about with a little Cooper Sharp cheese instead of the Colby...mmmmm.

Have to try it.

5. Opiates, like Vicodin,
make me crave sweets. I just finished the butter pecan ice cream.

But, other times, there's a craving for pizza. The other day, Sloppy Joes.

This past summer, it was hot dogs. Breakfast, lunch and dinner - hot dogs.

Good luck with your final stone. That's a horrid pain. My husband punched a hole in the ER wall when he was having an attack. I was impressed..................
