So, I met this woman
on-line.

We met for coffee and spent 2 hours just talking and talking before she had to go. She is smart, funny, attractive, Scottish origin. She is very, um, formidable. An exceptional woman.

We both emphatically agreed that we need to do more very soon so we are meeting for dinner.

I would like to take something floral. Not too big, not overwhelming, but not cheap-looking either. I thought of a single rose but that seems cliched.

ANY SUGGESTIONS???

1. No carnations or baby's breath!
There's nothing like a bouquet that screams, "Thank you for going to my 1987 prom with me!"

Maybe something with wildflowers? They're always nice and understated.

2. Something blue.

I would be very impressed if someone brought me delphiniums or forget me nots...

7. Blue Flower
It stands for desire, love, and the metaphysical striving for the infinite and (hopefully not)unreachable.

Yes, very cool.

6. You can't go wrong with chocolate
Unless she's a diabetic like me. Most women I know aren't all that impressed with flowers, unless you grew them yourself. How about a bag of gourmet coffee or the like, if chocolate is out?

Edited to include the "Corn Meal Sharing" part of our wedding ceremony.

Pretty early in your posting career for such stupidity. Enjoy your visit.

I buddy list friends, of course, but I also buddy list people I want to keep an eye on. I may miss when the pizza is delivered, but I want to make sure it gets delivered.

21. How about something kind of exotic like Bird of Paradise?
Other than that, I'd go with what Shakespeare said. Those arrangements are gorgeous.

23. Hard to say without knowing what she likes...
I'm partial to stargazer lillies but they are smelly, so a dinner date... well that wouldn't go with the meal too well I don't think.

Maybe a daisy or a tulip. They're cheerful-looking, pretty things.
