He's actually a hell of a kicker, and should he score 33 more points this season (extra-points and field goals), he'll be the most prolific scorer in WVU history. He's already 5th.

Even NFL kickers miss one now and again...

48. Burn On, Big River, Burn On

There's a red moon rising
On the Cuyahoga River
Rolling into Cleveland to the lake

There's a red moon rising
ON the Cuyahoga River
Rolling into Cleveland to the lake

There's an oil barge winding
Down the Cuyahoga River
Rolling into Cleveland to the lake

There's an oil barge winding
Down the Cuyahoga River
Rolling into Cleveland to the lake

Cleveland city of light city of magic
Cleveland city of light you're calling me
Cleveland, even now I can remember
'Cause the Cuyahoga River
Goes smokin' through my dreams

Burn on, big river, burn on
Burn on, big river, burn on
Now the Lord can make you tumble
And the Lord can make you turn
And the Lord can make you overflow
But the Lord can't make you burn

Burn on, big river, burn on
Burn on, big river, burn on

:spank:

on the other hand, I'm guessing Montgomery County and San Mateo County are more like each other than anywhere else. I thinking about the number of professionals, high tech companies, computer industries, biotech, knowledge-based economy, they are both suburban counties that are heavily urbanized, voting patterns (extremely blue), etc.

Hats off to you though --you far outrank us in knuckleheads, er, I mean Redskins fans. :hide:

67. Smallest Post Office U.S.A., first Rural Free Delivery in Kentucky
I kind of doubt the smallest post office thing, having travelled in some remote towns out west that have smaller post offices...maybe they are talking about distribution? Wiki does not say.

But there is a historic marker about the RFD thing.

70. My hometown is known for a couple things
Primarily the Quincy Mine (at the time of its closing in 1945, it sat over the deepest mine shaft in the world at 1.75 miles):

which is home to the largest steam hoist in the world:

We also share the Portage Lake Lift Bridge with Houghton, Michigan. This is the world's widest and heaviest double-deck lift bridge.

Boy, I miss it up there.

79. First electronic digital computer
Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 02:10 PM by Rambis
The Atanasoff-Berry Computer was the world's first electronic digital computer. It was built by John Vincent Atanasoff and Clifford Berry at Iowa State University during 1937-42. It incorporated several major innovations in computing including the use of binary arithmetic, regenerative memory, parallel processing, and separation of memory and computing functions.
On October 19, 1973, US Federal Judge Earl R. Larson signed his decision following a lengthy court trial which declared the ENIAC patent of Mauchly and Eckert invalid and named Atanasoff the inventor of the electronic digital computer -- the Atanasoff-Berry Computer or the ABC.

Clark Mollenhoff in his book, Atanasoff, Forgotten Father of the Computer, details the design and construction of the Atanasoff-Berry Computer with emphasis on the relationships of the individuals. Alice and Arthur Burks in their book, The First Electronic Computer: The Atanasoff Story, describe the design and construction of the ABC and provide a more technical perspective. Numerous articles provide additional information. In recognition of his achievement, Atanasoff was awarded the National Medal of Technology by President George Bush at the White house on November 13, 1990

85. Mothman! Point Pleasant, WV
The Mothman hoo-hah took place during my senior year of high school. I remember it well, including the collapse of the Silver Bridge over the Ohio River, killing 46 people. These events were the basis for the movie "The Mothman Prophecies," starring Richard Gere and Laura Linney. Check out the following link for more info:

although NASCAR has moved since the locals didn't put lighting in. It's still what we were once known for most of all.

Also, we are well known for(Because of our location midway between Miami and New York, we are known as "the Hub of the Southeast."):

and last but certainly not least (and because all cities in this county are practically the same):
