decided to climb my face when he was spooked by the dog. It may take quite a while to heal.

11. Oh, yeah... that can happen.
We have 5 cats, and I've been awakened by one or the other of them running across my bed while I sleep.

Fortunately, none have yet run across my face.

I figure it's bound to happen sooner or later.

I may start sleeping in safety glasses or a hockey goalie mask.

I'd REALLY like to go home and clean it again, but I can't. They're in that puffy stage that scratches get after the initial injury. OW.

23. Bacitracin is good stuff.
Sometimes when I have scratches that get like that, I put a warm, wet washcloth against them. You might give that a try; I know it's helped me in the past.

25. I just got home and cleaned it and put on more.
I'm going to swing by Health Services before class in the morning and let them look at it, 'cause one is so close to my eye. While I'm there, I figure they can look at the pinkie that's missing a chunk from Tuesday's incident.

28. No, it really was not
It hurt like a mofo, so I got up, stumbled to the bathroom and saw blood running down my cheek. Ugh. I had the presence of mind to clean it and dab some tea tree oil on it before I went back to bed. I slept with my hands over my face until morning. :P

Still hurts like a bitch too. Going to see the Dr in the a.m.

30. No idea...Here's what happened, to the best of my recollection:
It was 3:15 am, and Milk Chan decided to jump up on the headboard to get to the window. Normally, no problem. But, Siamese don't see as well in the dark, and she didn't see that she was going to land on the tv remotes, which went clattering everywhere. It spooked her, and my face happened to be sleeping directly below her panicky self, so I got the wrath. It wasn't intentional.

It's sore. It doesn't look too bad close up, but it's an unpleasant injury, most likely b/c I have to move my facial muscles to eat and talk.

I'm going into Health Services in the morning to let them check it out, since one of the scratches is so close to my eye.

And I suppose I'll be sleeping on my left side this evening. Sigh.

Very useful. Here in Canada you can also buy 5% xylocaine ointment over-the-counter and I keep some of that hanging around the house. I find lots of occasions to use it too.

years ago a recently adopted kitty of mine did something similar. i went to the doc for tetanus shot, and antibiotic cream and ice did the rest.

but i couldn't be mad at her, she didn't know what she did.

so... i suppose this is as close as we will get to a pic of kitty for now? :-)

hope you feel better soon.

45. I know, I'm going to see the Dr on campus first thing in the morning
I'll probably end up with a tetanus shot, antibiotics, and an anti-fungal 'script (antibiotics give me yeast infections, yay). They open at 8:30, so I'll go there before my 10am class.

But so far, I'm keeping it clean and coated with antibiotic goo (bacitracin).

49. I hope the little one doesn't turn out to be a real scratcher. I got a
cat from the vet office that turned out to be an attack cat. He would periodically get angry and attack. Since I live alone and don't have kids I decided to keep him. He attacks less and less and the severity of the attacks has gone down too. I think I went a whole month without him biting me. I love him to bits. He's very loving and cuddles like crazy.

Good luck with your knew kitten.

46. One more time, it was an accident
It was her first night here, in a pitch black room (Siamese don't see well in the dark), and she got spooked when her jump up didn't work out as planned. I think she knew she hurt me, b/c when I came back to bed, she sat there nose to nose with me for at least 5 minutes.

She didn't mean to do it. :(
