The further adventures of Oliver the cat
I got a free voucher from the Humane Society for to get my stray neutered,
so I took Oliver to the vet at the crack of dawn yesterday. Not a good night
since Oliver discovered at midnight that food wasn't included in the deal
on this particular occasion. Every fifteen minutes, Oliver would nudge me,
to see if I've changed my mind about the food issue. "Meow?" In turn, Chloe
- the old cat - would hiss. Then Smudge - the dog - would bark at Chloe for
hissing. All night long "Meow?" "Hissssss!" "Woof!" Every. Fifteen. Minutes.

I'm driving back home, when I get a call on my cell from the vet:
"Did you know this cat has a microchip?" What the hey...people who
bother to get their animals a microchip don't normally abandon them. So he
might have an owner out there. I'm waiting for a call back from the vet.
She said sometimes when they contact the company, either the information
is out of date or the previous owner has lost interest in the animal.

They did confirm from the animal shelter that he had already been neutered
(I couldn't really tell, since he's so young, and told the vet that)
and had all his shots, so at least he didn't have to go through that again.
They still haven't heard from the owners.

We shall see.
