Attorneys act out wife stabbing husband in bed
By ANDREW TILGHMAN
Copyright 2004 Houston Chronicle

Susan Wright is accused of stabbing her husband 193 times and burying him in the back yard of their northwest Harris County home.

Susan Wright sobbed during her murder trial this morning as prosecutors brought her bloodstained bed into the courtroom and graphically demonstrated their version of how Wright tied up her husband and stabbed him 193 times.

Prosecutors maintain that Wright lured her husband, Jeffery, into the couple's bedroom on Jan. 13, 2003, tied him to the bedposts, stabbed him to death and buried him in their backyard so she could collect $200,000 in life insurance.

This story is headline news here in Houston; I don't know if it's national news.

Given the defendant's reasonably attractive appearance and the relative 'kinkiness' of the details of the murder, I expect a dramatisation of the story underlying this trial will make it to TV soon after the trial is over.

Where will it appear first?

1. It depends on who sells the story.

2. 193 times?
was she going for the world's record. I mean, even as a crime of rage, that seems excessive. Did she break for dinner? Drinks, at least? 193 times?

5. She looks EXACTLY like someone I know.
Except for the blond hair. I work with a woman who, ignoring her short brown hair, could be this woman's double.

6. I had never
heard of it before your post. I'm not from Houston and I
haven't seen it on any news outlet. I wonder how many people
remember the murder in Ontario Canada about 10 years ago?
Pretty blonde gal participated with her husband in sex murders
of young girls, under 18. I cant remember her name even though
she just was denied parole last month. If they hadn't made a
movie of that they may not make one of Wright either.
