1. I reckon I could hit that tree over there
...the one just behind that hillock. Not the big hillock, the little hillock on the left. You see the three trees? The third from the left and back a bit — that one. I reckon I could hit that four times out of five... on a good day. Say, with this wind, say, seven times out of 10.

2. Why would anyone want to destroy that beauty?
Methinks you are a troublemaker, although I am a stranger to the Lounge at this point...maybe I'm just missing the humor.

I Love Trees.

4. Dear Skip Intro this is a joke.
I really love trees, too. This is what we call a copycat thread. Some other DUer had a thread that said "I wanna kill a moose" so I did this, because spruce rhymes with moose. Get it?

It's also a satire if you think about it. Ronald Reagan once said that trees cause pollution. ;)

5. ROFLLLLLLLLLL - Did reagan really say trees cause pollution?
I'm sorry man, I used to post kinda regularly in the Lounge, altho never a denizen, but you know, I know about copy cat threads and such. I've spent way too much time in the last few months in GDP.

Way too much.

6. Yeah, Reagan said that trees caused pollution.
Doonesbury had a field day with that. :) There was even one panel of Doonesbury where a pine forest was shown with polluting smoke rising from the tops of trees as if they were smoke stacks. ;)

8. Remember Reagan also said that ketchup was a vegetable.
This was when they were talking about school lunches. Some officials complained that there weren't enough vegetables in student lunches, but Reagan said they got ketchup and ketchup is a vegetable. Yes, Reagan a packet of ketchup is just a nourishing as a salad.

10. Yep, remember that - and they were talking about nutrition for our kids - for children.
Really, what the fuck, 'scuse my language, but wtf are these like-minded people still doing being within grasp of the White House?

Crazy. Crazy that anyone would want to use semantics to curtail healthy food for children.

Crazy that anyone would support such bs.

But they did, and they, and their converted offspring, are out there, still, today.

Cannot believe it.
