Forgot a Card game---> Pluck

Played a card game designed for 3 people way back in my Army days we called pluck. I have found rules for a 4 man and 3 man version online but they are not what I remember.

The 3 man version I have found has 17 tricks per hand way more then I remember playing.

Here is my vague recollection

Dealer-- 4 tricks
Left of dealer-- 3 tricks
Last man-- 1 or 2 tricks
Don't remember how we broke up the deck. Perhaps added the two jokers and removed the low cards except the two of clubs

Plucking was an actual plucking where the individual you were plucking fanned his cards out and you were randomly picking one card from him. Can't remember if they picked back randomly or if you gave them a card from your hand before/after the pluck.

Some how I am remembering a kitty as well.

Does this game ring a bell for anyone or did I just make this up?
