Help! I can't access the DU archives prior to January 2005!

Anyone else have this problem? Anyway to search before then? I'm looking for a post I did right after the '04 election. anyone? :shrug:

1. I have a link to an old thread of mine from 2003

I noticed when I tried to navigate out of there, all the links led nowhere other than when I clicked on "Politics and Campaigns (Protected)," which is the forum the thread was posted in. Once I clicked on "Politics and Campaigns" link there was a tiny Archive link at far right that does work, and leads to threads back to 2001 in that forum.

I could change the drop menu to the other forums and most of them worked, directly to the same type of Archive link, but when I tried the major ones like The Lounge, General Discussion, and Latest Breaking News, I got a "Script Error."

I thought I was stuck, but then I tried the "Top of the Page" option from the drop down menu. That worked, and led to this page, which includes links to the major forums. Unfortunately, now that I look at it, these links seem to lead to July 6, 2003 and earlier. I have no idea how to access threads from 2004, or what forum you're looking for. It's the best I can do. :)

3. If you go to that...

..."Google search DU or the Web" box in the upper right hand corner and type in your username, the year of the posts you're looking for, and any distinguishing keywords that you can remember from that post you might be able to find what you're looking for. You'll probably get a substantial list of your old posts but hopefully you'll be able to narrow it down to the one you're looking for.

Glad to hear it. I'm very nearly computer illiterate myself but I can usually experiment and find my way around stuff.
