Mrs. OBD had me get her an Oreck XL for her birthday

..and yes, the present sucks.

Actually, it seems to work really well. It comes with a second, portable vac for hard to reach areas, and the main unit is incredibly light. It's assembled in the US (a plus from my standpoint), and we got the pink, Susan Komen "Clean For The Cure" version.

Then she had me take her to Carrabas, where I ate entirely too damn much food.

Handy and cleans well. I'm kicking my over-sized Dirt Devil monstrosity to the curb. It came with a free iron and car vac, too! :)

Darn, I knew I should have bargained harder.

I will say, I was actually impressed when the salesman had the little vac pick up th 16lb bowling ball like they show on TV.
