Do you find that the very ones you pity also have an amazing

4. yes. That is the difference. I don't pity him either. Actually, I have
a lot of respect for the way he deals with his health issues. He seems determined to lead a full life in spite of his debilitating issues.

6. Wow. This has been on my mind for a couple of days.
This person has an incredibly and gratuitously cruel streak. Yet responding in "kind" (what a pun) would be morally reprehensible because she is valiant in a very rough life. What to do.

7. Where is the valiance in being cruel?
Is this the "cruel to be kind" theory?

8. The two things are separate, compartmentalized. We're all a mix.
When she's cruel she's cruel. Her own struggles are her own. I doubt she has any insight into her cruelty to *some* people (not others).

9. She has a blind spot into her own psyche. I think, we are all guilty
of that, some of us more so than others. I wonder how she chooses which people to treat cruelly.

10. I wasn't going to disclose more, but I try to answer all sincere questions.
She's a "Sweet Charity" barmaid. She decides according to which gents pass money to her (and thereby help her with her struggling), and she's mean to others minding their own business.

No more questions althought I continue to be intrigued, I will refrain from asking. She has my pity.
