2. It was told in flashback style and it leaves out a lot.
A lot of style and just hint of substance and lots of blanks.

5. while I loved learning of her personal life and what shaped her
from an early age, I would have liked to have known more about "the middle years". Seems like we saw her young and old. The middle years were ignored and that would have been the years when she grew her empire. One thing, did it show how Mark (the Malcom McDowell role) came into her life?

4. I thought they dwelt too long on the pre-WWI stuff
not a word on the between the wars, and then the WWII stuff... it was like a part 1 with an current ending.

still, I liked it for what it was

8. Cross post from the other thread: Only about 2 minutes of Shirley
It's sad. It means she's gone.

If she had the physical and mental capacity to carry off a major role, you KNOW they would have written it for her to do so. Instead, they shamelessly traded off her name and fame JUST to promote it.

Irma is leaving us.

9. Audrey Tatou (Amelie) is playing Chanel in a French bio-pic
that will be much, much, much, much, much better, I am sure. I saw a couple of minutes of it. Will wait for the real deal.
