Why are commercials so loud?
My wife is watching a program in the next room, and I can barely hear it. But every time a commercial comes on, it's like the tv is setting on my shoulder and at full volume. WTF?!?

Whoever came up with this fucked-up practice should be eviscerated and then strangled with his own entrails. Or her own entrails; I don't mean to be sexist about this.

1. Because the commercials themselves aren't annoying enough.
Seriously, enough with the damn cavemen. :banghead:

2. I prefer how the French did it-- cut off the head with a guillotine and then quickly
grab the head and point it at the severed body. (Speaking of fucked-up practices....)

3. I think that's referred to as a French Kiss-off
Of course, it really cut down on recidivism.

Well, with a little help from the executioner, of course.

7. cause we live in a eff'ed-up commercialized sell-out world
no funny response for this question, it just pisses me off so bad  I can't even watch tv anymore because of the commercials, and whenever I watch a little they get louder I think.

The louder the more they think you are paying attention.

17. Another good argument why Ofcom should regulate TV here.
Admittedly it's been dumbed down since the days of the Independent Television Authority ...

but one thing that's not legal in UK is commercials louder than the programming.

FCC are soo f'n light touch here it's a joke.

Mark.
