I am used to procedural programming .... but the Functional paradigm in Mathematica is pure elegance and beauty.

I heard Lisp is similar. Now I want to learn LISP.

2. Used to do LISP in college - pretty easy and cool language to work with.
I've never done mathematica.

6. My line of work is far removed from engineering nowadays.
Edited on Sat Sep-13-08 04:08 PM by Rabrrrrrr
I write, do some stuff for the church, and sort of bop around as a weird kind of theological consultant cum social commentator cum fine artist.

Mostly I help people to be better people, and groups of people to be better groups of people.

It's really an odd sort of uncategorizable (spellcheck tells me that's not a word, but it works) life that I've slowly slipped into, but I love it!

Although, when I say it's far from engineering, that's only in the sense that I'm not doing the technical stuff - but what I am doing, dealing with systems and social feedback loops and the arts, etc., is very much a kind of engineering.

I have been, and always shall be, an engineer at heart. It truly will not leave me. And I am glad for it.

5. They're usually referred to as either 'nerdgasms' or 'geekgasms'.
I tend to use the latter rather than the former.

Then there's the precursor to the geekgasm... http://www.digitalpimponline.com/strips.php?title=movie&id=202">the geek boner.
