Does Jon Stewart have a future as late night talk show host?
Will he be lured away by one of the major networks? Will we lose him? I fear.

2. Yep. So did Bill Maher.
They took him to the networks and he began his sink into suckiness.

3. one lil problem I have with Jon Stewart...
Okay, I have been watching him on the Daily show for a while, and am a big fan however...Last night, he was interviewing some right wing hack. This guy was whining about how awful the people are who criticize shrub*. Stewart commented about kinda the same thing happened a few years back under Clinton. The guy agreed, and said that he had written some false attacks on Clinton. If that is the case, the guy has no credibility, and Stewart should have called him out, and asked. If you smeared Clinton out of hate for anything not republican, why should anyone take your criticisms of liberal commentators when you are no different, just from the opposite side of the spectrum. Stewart didn't, and that bummed me out. Although, it isn't going to make me stop watching. Specifically, the opening segment of his show IS the funniest 10 minutes on TV, everyday...Kevin.

4. He has to tread a fine line with his guests...

He can't attack them because he is against that. He wants to respect all of his guests and let them bascially hang themselves with their own words.

I think it's a great strategy, but can get irritating to watch when you see the guest is a baldfaced liar.

That's the difference between people like O'Reilly and Stewert...people like Stewert and Bill Moyers respect different opinions...O'Reilly will try to use any underhanded tactic to make everyone believe that he is right all of the time.

5. Well said

Stewart practices verbal Aikido. He simply hands them a noose so they can hang themselves.

7. He said he wrote about the false attacks
not that he wrote them, IIRC. He said it such a way that I thought he meant that he wrote about the falseness or lameness of the attacks. Maybe he meant he just repeated the attacks. We tuned out the last segment. Couldn't stand the guy. Stewart was good and got a in lot of good underhand attacks while being a reasonable host.

9. Okay...
I thought he was saying he wrote them. I may have misunderstood what he was trying to say. I didn't like the guy either. I do understand Jon Stewart, as you said, has to be a reasonable host. Like I said, I thought the guy admitted he authored false attacks, and thought Stewart should have atleast brought up the hypocrisy, without screaming, and acting O'Rielly/Hannity like. Jon Stewart is a different sort of host. It is funny, Stewart is considered leaning to the left yet, when he has a conservative on, he is always respectful, doesn't attack, and allows the guest to answer actual questions, not commentary. Yet, the hosts that lean to the right, O'Rielly, Hannity, and such, don't seem to show the same courtesies...Kevin.
