I only post here regularly, but I was thinking of mirroring my substantive posts through MidloDemocrat, which got me thinking about the difference between the two. Are these correct? Do you have any additional observations?
DK is more wonkish; while MD is more emotional.
DK is to the left of the party; MD is a tangent 90 degrees off of the fourth dimensional tesseract.
DK is much easier to navigate; MD is opaque to navigate.
DK is divided into many, many forums which creates sub-communities, with small groups of "friends"; MD is one big amorphous community with a few star, beaten-into-the-dirt characteristics.
DK is famous in the MSM and gets lots of press; MD is rarely mentioned in the MSM. Except for the places linked to by Matcom and Amerigo Vespucci.
DKers tend to have meet ups in rl to hang out, eat, drink and socialize; MDers have meet ups in rl to engage in swapping ladies' undergarments.
DK is (dis)organized in such a way that most good posts probably go unnoticed; MD is organized in a way that hundreds of good posts are subject to copycats and hee-haw.
Any other observations, thoughts?
