How do you apportion closet/drawer space in your household?
Alternate thread title: I have ovaries and LOTS of clothes, so do not fuck with me. :7

Having just moved into a bigger apartment (finally), we're in the process of organizing the dresser and closet (translation: I'm the one doing all the organizing). We have a double dresser with six drawers, and the SO claimed three of the drawers, all of which were no more than 1/4 full. When I sweetly informed him that I was going to need one of those drawers, and would redistribute his clothes accordingly, he looked all sad and informed me that wasn't very fair.

I told him to just deal with it, that I was declaring eminent domain.

Yes, I am a closet/drawer nazi. An unapologetic one, in fact. How do you deal with competing clothes storage needs in your house?

2. The best part:
After he got all sad (and marginally outraged), I made him admit that the eminent domain thing was funny. And he still has PLENTY of room for his stuff in the two drawers and in the closet.

3. It's pretty easy in our home...
I surrender whatever space is requested, quietly and with a smile.

But we'll be moving into a bigger place soon too, so hopefully there'll be plenty of room for both of us.

9. Dresser and closet one split evenly.
Closet two is apparently "extra coats and MrLaraMN's miscellaneous cords to things we probably don't even own anymore and piles of shit."

11. I don't really worry about it- I have a gigantic walk-in closet and I'm not a clothes horse.
I'm thinking I should put a desk in there and call it my office, because right now it's almost empty.

12. My dear Shakespeare...
We each have a dresser...

The closet goes like this:

He has the top rack for his shirts, and I have the bottom...

And the cubby holes are mostly mine...

We just stuck our stuff in as we needed to.

It's a custom house, and our architect laid out the closet very well...

Even in our former homes, though, we never argued about who got what...

It just always seemed to work out...

13. Oh, we didn't argue about it.
He just wanted to get in a token whimper before he shrugged off the inevitable.
