A musical break - Janis - Summertime. For your blues {youtube 4:46}
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzNEgcqWDG4

Summertime, time, time,
Child, the living's easy.
Fish are jumping out
And the cotton, Lord,
Cotton's high, Lord so high.

Your daddy's rich
And your ma is so good-looking, baby.
She's a-looking good now,
Hush, baby, baby, baby, baby now,
No, no, no, no, no, no, no,
Don't you cry, don't you cry.

One of these mornings
You're gonna rise, rise up singing,
You're gonna spread your wings, child,
And take, take to the sky,
Lord, the sky.

But until that morning,
Honey, n-n-nothing's going to harm ya,
No, no, no no, no no, no...
Don't you cry — cry.

2. I often wonder what we've missed
having lost her at such a young age. Susan Tedeschi has the same great blues-y styling.

5. I always loved Janis.
It blew me away when she died. I don't think any other singer's death ever hit me that way. I have all her vinyl, and all her stuff on CD. I saw her live in concert about two months before she died. At least she went at the height of her power.
