1. I understand completely...
I have chronic asthma and a bout with pneumonia could easily kill me.

Hope you're among the living soon.

:hi:

2. I'm feeling better
last week really sucked, I feel better this week, back at work and all, but damn, I wonder how long it takes to get back to 100% after a bout of this crap? I have never been so sick in my life as I was last week. :(

3. Depends on how long you were sick before gettng it fixed mainly....
I've got asthma too, like the other person who posted.

I had pneumonia, went to the doctor and was given antibiotics... but they didn't really do much. I thought it was just taking me a long time to recover, so I kept on trucking, finally went back to the doctor three months later when I was coughing up blood.

Three rounds of antibiotics didn't fix it, so they did a bronchoscopy. Turns out it was a rare fungal pneumonia, they think I caught it when I was taking care of a friend's pet bird.

The antifungals fixed it, but I was out of work for three weeks after the bronchoscopy, and it took nearly a year for my peak flows to get back to the normal range for me. I still have scarring nearly 10 years later, so I have to let doctor's know when they are evaluating a lung problem that I had that really bad pneumonia -- otherwise they look at my chest x-ray and think I still have pneumonia.

4. thanks for the info
I was sick for at least a month before I went in and was diagnosed. It started as a sinus infection and progressed to pneumonia somewhere along the way, so I don't know exactly how long I actually had pneumonia.
