Are the vast majority of people who call into radio shows...

I'm asking this because after listening to my local morning radio talk show, I was absolutely horrified at the callers. I normally am, but today was especially awful. Unquestioningly spewing the vilest of GOP propaganda without batting an eye.

If it's right-wing hate radio, sure. The producers are gonna screen the callers who make sense, unless they get a liberal they think the host can undress.

This morning, though, I was listening to Ronn Owens on KGO in San Francisco. (KGO has hosts on both sides and in the middle. Owens is one of the latter.) The topic was, of course, Caribou Barbie, and the don't-like-her callers out-numbered the like-her callers two to one. Also, the don't-like-hers were rational.

But listening to the hateful gasbag makes me ill.
One of the hosts is a centrist, the other a conservative who surprisingly hits the truth a lot more than you'd think.
It's their callers I can't stand listening to.
