Hey computer savvy individuals...
I just spent 15 miuntes trying to get my IE to stay up. Can you explain to me why IE would just at random keep closing? I restarted five times. My pop up blocker kept going off on yahoo mail, which is my home page, and then my window would close. I ran ad aware, ran scan disk, ran antiviral program...nothing. Am I just crazy?

3. Spyware maybe?

Oops -- I see you already tried Ad-Aware. It still seems like the likeliest answer. Update it if you haven't recently and try running it again. You might have a go at Spybot as well.

4. kill your popup blocker
Then try again. My guess is that your popup blocker forgot to take it's ritalin. Turn down the sensitivity.

5. run defrag
if that doesnt work reduce your security settings - if that doesnt work try restoring a couple of days back - if that still doesnt work make sure your temp internet files are emptied - still stuck??? the old re install of windows.
Plus - if you know the make and model of your hard drive you can go to their site and they will probably have a diagnostic program you put on disk and then run it so it can check the hard drive - if you have blip in it could cause all this.
good luck

6. Some other advice -
Change your home page, and temporarily disable your popup blocker. Restart and see if it works better.

After that - if it's still there you could try to re-install IE altogether. You may have a file on your HD called ie5install.exe or ie6install.exe . These will do the whole reinstall of IE.

Make sure you do to the Microsoft site for IE security updates and OS patches as soon as you get reconnected.
