I haz a husband! (some pics)

Just a quick update from Nantucket... the wedding (and past week) have been a BLAST!!! I just had to stop and look around every so often to soak it all up, because just about everyone i love in the world was in one place. And that place happened to be a tent on a little island off Massachusetts... with Tropical Storm Hanna rolling in!

Here is our uninvited guest:




We didn't want any strangers at the wedding, so we had no caterers, no wedding planner, no bartender... our completely AMAZING friends and families all pitched in in small and large ways. I feel so very thankful for all of them. We had friends rearranging and setting tables, bartending, taking photos - luckily one of our best friends is a professional photographer! We don't have those photos yet, but here are a few that my sister took. All of the food and flowers came from a farm on Nantucket, and it was all FANTASTIC!

The weather was actually not too bad - it was CRAZY WINDY, but not much rain. We were able to do all the post-wedding photos outside with the ocean in the background, and no one got poured on coming out to the wedding. All in all, if you have to get married in a tropical storm, this was the way to do it. :7

The parents got along great - they're all really friendly, luckily we didn't talk politics so it was all good. ;)

I was SO happy that we could do the wedding this way... i feel like a lot of weddings are really impersonal, and this one was just perfect for us. Luckily our friends and family are all rock stars and helped a TON!

The pups were awesome! Our friend John walked them down the aisle with the rings. My mom said that everyone just laughed and "aww'd" when they came in. They were wearing bow ties. :D

We definitely wanted to go informal - after all, it was originally supposed to be outdoors and then the reception in the tent. Turned out we had to do the whole thing in the tent - so tuxes would have looked even more out of place! :D

I *love* the fall flower color scheme... we just told the wonderful folks at the farm to fix something pretty with whatever they had blooming in a red-orange-yellow color scheme. They did an absolutely amazing job!!!
