How did Tammy Faye Bakker salvage her self in the end?
Edited on Sun Sep-07-08 03:52 PM by Taverner
She had a Paul of Tarsus moment, as I like to call it. Like Ariana Huffington, she embraced gays, became a liberal, stayed Christian but did it ethically - but when did this happen? And how?

1. Not sure, but she lived about four doors down from a good friend of mine
after she married Roe Messner(sp)and she really did look like that. All the time. Even when she was watering the lawn.

2. I think she started to turn after the way Falwell and his ilk treated Jim Bakker after his scandal
I'm no fan of Jim Bakker but they really treated him like shit and hung him out to dry. Once she was wise to their true colors her conversion began

4. No matter how or when; she made her peace with her God, and that's all that counts. It is NOT
for us to presume to judge her.

7. Thanks for that. I once really made it a point to be angry about the Bakkers
and laughed at their disgrace. Then she changed, then she got cancer, and she dealt with it publicly with grace. She got my hesitant respect.
Interesting times.

8. It happened after Jim went to the slammer,
they got divorced, and she was penniless.

Funny how people find God - for real - when all the toys get taken away and they're no longer allowed to steal from others.
